Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Seminar
Collins and Kruse Elder Law now offers the Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Seminar, led by April Parker, CDP, CADDCT, a Certified Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Trainer through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP).
The Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Seminar is the required educational program for healthcare professionals and caregivers pursuing the Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) credential through NCCDP.
The seminar is designed for healthcare professionals, senior living staff, nurses, social workers, therapists, home care providers, hospice teams, administrators, and others who support older adults across the continuum of care. In addition, the seminar provides 7 nursing continuing education units (CEUs) through InsPAC, offering nurses an opportunity to enhance their dementia care knowledge while meeting continuing education requirements.
In addition to fulfilling the CDP certification requirement, the seminar provides 7 nursing continuing education units (CEUs) through InsPAC.
Who is this for?
Organizations may host the seminar onsite for staff development, professional certification, continuing education, and workforce training initiatives.
The program can be customized to meet the needs of healthcare providers, senior living communities, home care agencies, hospice organizations, and other groups serving older adults.

April Parker, CDP, CADDCT Vice President of Strategic Growth, Collins and Kruse Elder Law
April was born and raised in the Akron, Ohio area and has called Columbus home for the past 15 years. A graduate of Kent State University, she has devoted her nearly 20-year career to the aging services industry, serving in leadership roles across senior living, hospice, healthcare recruitment, and business development.
April is a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) and Certified Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Trainer (CADDCT) through NCCDP. She is committed to advancing dementia education, promoting person-centered care, and empowering professionals, families, and communities to better support individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.
She takes pride in helping individuals access the support, education, and resources they need to live with dignity and connection. Her work is guided by compassion, collaboration, and a genuine desire to make a difference.
